After winning 14 Snowboard World Cup events in Slalom, GS and Super G and competing in the 1998 & 2002 Olympics, Mark turned his talents to Coaching. He has been the Canadian National Alpine Snowboard Coach since 2005 and is currently training Elite athletes for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
The Canadian Team is primed for the 2010 Olympics. Jasey Jay Anderson won the 2009 World Alpine Snowboard Championships in Korea while teammate Matt Morrison won a bronze in the same event. This season in Telluride Colorado the team earned 2 Golds, a Silver, a bronze and a sixth place finish.
The outstanding results earned Mark and assistant coach Sylvain Jean a Coaching Award of Excellence from Petro Canada in the fall of 2009.
Since there was no snow in Europe in November the early season snowboard events had to be cancelled. This allowed him the opportunity to revisit Baldface after it had one of the best early season snowfalls in its history. They rode in amazing powder.
